COMPETITIONS
Competition Conditions
These conditions apply specifically to competitions organised by
FAW-Tasmania Inc.
No email entries will be accepted or conditions sent out
by email, but we will reply to general enquiries. All contact should be made through
our PO Box 234, North Hobart 7002.
The author's name must not appear on
manuscripts. The author's name, phone number, address, email address
(if applicable), and the title of the work must be written on a
separate sheet. Only the title of the work should appear on the
manuscript.
Entries should be typed and double spaced on one side of
the paper only, although under special circumstances a legible,
handwritten entry may be accepted. Where there are few sheets for an
entry, they may be folded into a DL size envelope to save postage
costs: also, large envelopes containing few pages are often damaged in
the post.
Entries must be the
original work of the entrant, be unpublished, and not have won a prize in any other competition.
Please do not enter any work currently submitted to another
competition.
Judge's decisions are final, and no correspondence
relating to these decisions will be entered into.
It is a condition, that if a winner of an FAW-Tasmania
Inc.competition is unable to attend a presentation meeting, his or her work
may be read out at that meeting.
All entrants to FAW-Tasmania Inc. in-house competitions
must be financial members. Where an entry fee is $5 or less, 50cent stamps to
the value of the entry fee may be sent in lieu of a cheque or postal
order.
If, in the opinion of the committee of FAW-Tasmania Inc.
there are insufficient entries for any competition organised by them, the
committee reserves the right to cancel that competition.
All entries will be destroyed after prizes have been
awarded. Entrants should therefore always keep a copy of their
work.
